Lettre International: Book Layout

Let's change the format - Layout assignment for the danish edition of this famous european cultural magazine.

This magazine has one of the highest Lix counts I have ever seen and is so hard-to-read that even the editor claimed that he had never read an entire magazine in one single read-through.

The magazine has a almost fanatic cult following of hardcore literates with high education (surprise!). Also making the reading of the magazine just as much a statement as the content inside of it.

So whats the problem? Eh, as you properly can imagine there aren't that many hardcore literates in Denmark that falls for the dusty layout. Making the magazine hard to sell. This is why the editor wanted to sharpen up the layout with something a bit more fresh - but without totally scaring away the nerds!

I decided to change the format from a regular magazine, piling up on your coffee table, to have a very special place on your book shelf for everyone to be deeply fascinated!

In changing the format to shorter columns I thought there would  be a change that somebody else would have the courage to face this massive cultural bible.
